Reinerton-Orwin-Muir is a small, tight-knit community located in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. This unincorporated village is made up of three smaller neighborhoods – Reinerton, Orwin, and Muir – each with its own unique character and history.

Reinerton is the oldest of the three neighborhoods, dating back to the late 1800s when it was established as a coal mining town. The town was named after an early settler, George Reiner, and was once home to a thriving coal industry. While the coal mines have long since closed, the community has continued to grow and thrive, with a mix of residential and commercial spaces.

Orwin is another former coal mining town, with a rich history that dates back to the late 19th century. The neighborhood was named after Colonel Henry Orwigs, who was an early settler in the area. Much like Reinerton, Orwin was built around the coal industry, and while the mines have closed, the neighborhood has remained a strong and vibrant community.

Muir, the third and final neighborhood in the area, was also built around the coal mining industry. The town was named after John Muir, a prominent figure in the coal mining industry in the late 1800s. Muir, like Reinerton and Orwin, has seen changes over the years but has maintained its strong sense of community and history.

In recent years, Reinerton-Orwin-Muir has become known for its beautiful natural surroundings, including the nearby Appalachian Trail, which attracts hikers and outdoor enthusiasts from all over the country. The area also boasts a number of parks, recreational facilities, and community events, making it a wonderful place to live or visit.
